How you'll shape the future of the Jesup Plant HR Department:
Develop and implement human resource strategies and objectives in support of plant, business unit and corporate goals.
Serves as member of Jesup Plant Leadership Team Manage the labor relations function to achieve Company and Plant objectives.
In conjunction with plant, business unit, and corporate develop and implement strategies for labor contract negotiations, labor/management initiatives and arbitrations.
Maintain productive labor relations to enhance plant operations.
Oversee the administration and interpretation of four labor agreements, including wages, pay practices, benefits, grievances, work practices, discipline, seniority, placement and scheduling.
Monitor trends in labor relations to ensure a competitive position in labor practices and costs Lead and manage highly effective and motivated Human Resources department.
Develop and manage departmental goals, expense/capital, and two-way communication with department members Oversee implementation of Corporate HR Policies and Practices.
Implement appropriate local policies, procedures and systems to improve individual and organization performance, strengthen employee relations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Manage and administer compensation and benefit systems for all salaried and bargaining unit employees.
Develop annual salary plan, approve, and evaluate salaried position descriptions and administers salary changes.
Along with the Controller, oversee, develop, and administer the Jesup Plant Gain Share Plan.
Work closely with Corporate Benefits to develop, implement, and improve salaried and hourly benefit plans Manage employee training and development programs to achieve plant and corporate objectives.
Prepare and implement the Management Continuity and Development plan Deliver a competent, committed, and diverse workforce to meet the current and future needs of the organization.
Manage employment and placement activities to ensure selection of the best-qualified candidates in accordance with Corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
Monitor salaried and hourly staffing levels to optimize headcount and control costs Oversee the organization's commitment to equal employment opportunity.
Communicate policies and implements practices to prevent non-compliance.
Investigate discrimination and harassment complaints and issues, and take appropriate corrective action to resolve issues In conjunction with the General Manager, coordinate local community relations activities Manage employee communications to keep people informed on key issues, build alignment with business objectives and improve safety awareness Provide reports and systems to manage costs in areas such as overtime, attendance, headcount, turnover and recruiting Oversee the effective utilization of the human resource information system and other personnel data systems Provide direction, guidance and counsel to managers and supervisors in all aspects of effective human resource management, including individual and organization development, job design, staffing, restructuring, labor relations, performance improvement, terminations, policy and regulatory compliance and communications Consult with leaders/managers to assist them with all organization effectiveness needs including:
teambuilding / group process consultation / meeting facilitation; change management, organization diagnosis & design - structure, process and work design You'll be someone who can bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or closely related field Minimum of 10 years generalist experience in human resources or equivalent experience, including at least 4 years in an industrial, unionized environment, and experience in managing people Recruiting and labor relations experience essential as well as track record in initiating and implementing major organizational change(s) driven by competitive forces, particularly in a unionized environment Extensive knowledge of labor and employment law, HR practices, and labor agreement administration Knowledge and skills in recruiting, selection, labor/employee relations, organizational behavior, and human resource development Excellent written and verbal communication skills Why you'll love working for RYAM:
