The Purchasing Agent coordinates purchasing activities for Rayonier Advanced Materials (RYAM) to procure materials and services at the best total value for RYAM.
Manages purchasing transactions, pricing and expedites workflow to ensure that materials and services are delivered on time and on specification.
How you'll shape the future of the Sourcing Department:
Independently solicits proposals, analyze quotations and issues purchase orders for procurement of assigned materials and services.
Places orders, issuing releases, closing orders and performing other transactions necessary to meet material and service requirements and support supplier management activities.
Expedites and monitors orders when necessary and arranges transportation.
Follows-up on outstanding transactions.
Coordinates the creation, routing and approval of purchase requisitions, purchase orders and invoices to ensure that proper authorization is received prior to placing an order or authorizing payment.
Develops data to support analysis of supplier performance for adherence to delivery schedules, accuracy of shipments to order and end user problems.
Develops data and reports to support the analysis of category and commodity spending levels to support the development of sourcing strategies.
Serves as a system administrator for required systems such as maintenance (CMMS), accounting (GP) and chemicals (CMS) including table maintenance and setting up of routing codes for requisition approvals.
Additional duties as assigned.
You'll be someone who can bring:
Minimum high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of college or equivalent experience.
4-year degree preferred.
2-4 years (with college degree) or 4-6 years (with high school diploma) with experience in purchasing and materials management or related field.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent personal computer and information systems skills and knowledge.
Highly competent with Word, Excel and Power Point.
