RN Supervisor (Every other Weekend)

POSITION
Summary:
Responsible for all departments and functions within the health care facility during the absence of Administration. Responsible for all emergencies, both resident care and facility related, delivery of resident care and assisting the nursing staff with special care techniques. Notifies administrator on-call of any major emergencies that arise. Adheres to and enforces Ft Valley's policies and procedures and State and Federal regulations. Must be pleasant, respectful and courteous to residents, families, visitors and fellow employees at all times.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for functions, activities and services of all residents and employees:
- Makes facility rounds of nursing stations and all other departments. - Ensures that nursing personnel provide treatments and medications as prescribed, keeps residents comfortable, clean and well groomed and protects residents from accidents, injury and infection. - Makes independent decisions regarding nursing care after assessing resident and collecting input from team leader. - Adheres to resident's Bill of Rights, residents care policies and all department policies, federal and state regulations. - Assesses all employees ill or injured while on duty. - Screens staff call-in's, completes employee call in slips, and replaces staff as needed. - PCC/POC/UDA clearances/ensuring documentation completed by all shifts for facility - Lab Monitoring/Audits - Infection Control - Nurse understands that position not limited to the above written; various tasks may be assigned at DON/ADON discretion at any time during employment with facility
Assists Charge Nurses:
- Makes doctor contacts, interprets orders and calls doctors as necessary to report any changes. -- Round with doctors and assist with examinations as requested (may delegate to Team Leader) - Assists professional nursing staff with special care techniques (IV's, trach. care, etc.). - Ensures that all and resident Unpredictable Event Reports are written. - Initiates internal report/investigation of possible resident and/or staff abuse or neglect Notifies CEP according to Abuse Prevention Plan. - Establishes rapport with relatives and keeps them informed of changes in resident's condition (may delegate to Team Leader). - In case of death, notifies doctors, relatives and calls mortuary of relative's choice (may delegate to Team Leader). - Handles admissions, transfers and discharges of residents with necessary referrals; Chart Audits on new admissions within 24 hours of admission
Educates professional and nonprofessional staff:
- Continues professional growth through current literature and continuing education. - Assesses staff performance and initiates on-going teaching. - Assists Education Department with staff inservices. - Follow-up to ensure Care to Learn/Relias being completed by all staff in a timely manner
Reviews and evaluates employee job performance:
- Provides information for yearly evaluations. - Disciplines and issues warnings as necessary per policy of Mission Health. - Adheres to and enforces Mission Health's policies and procedures.
Responds to all facility emergencies:
- Evaluates emergencies and implements measures needed. - Notifies administrator on-call if outside agency is involved or if there is a major concern with resident or employee. - Documents emergencies. - Assists with conducting and evaluating fire drills on designated shifts. - Ensures that all employee incident reports are completed. Issues appropriate health insurance information to employee.
Performs miscellaneous duties - Establishes good public relations with all. - Makes daily report to Director of Nursing and/or Associate Director of Nursing. - Attends monthly team meeting. - Practices good safety habits. - Performs related work tasks and duties as assigned. - Investigate and solve shift specific problems. Reports problems and solutions to nursing supervisory team. - Job functions and responsibilities are defined as part time or full time.
JOB SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing with current Georgia RN license. - One or more years experience in a supervisory and management capacity in a hospital or long-term care facility. - Previous experience with geriatrics desirable. - Current certification in Adult CPR.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
