Production Shift Supervisor -Night Shift

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  1. Balances and works to continuously improve safety, quality, productivity, cost and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
  2. Ensures strict adherence to safety policies and procedures and compliance with state and federal regulations. Regularly conducts or participates in safety audits and training meetings. Documents completion of job and safety training required. Tracks quarterly Safety Bonus requirements. Monitors and maintains an organized, clean and safe work environment.
  3. Responsible for quality assurance and control of finished goods. Monitors material quality throughout production. Ensures adherence to product specifications. Audits quality documentation to ensure compliance. Provides feedback to personnel on quality issues.
  4. Maximizes productivity, efficiency, and raw product yield.
  5. Performs scheduling and communication of staff and daily production to meet production and shipping requirements. Controls and minimizes labor overtime and expenses.
  6. Coordinates with maintenance to schedule down times and address maintenance concerns. Minimizes downtime and related costs.
  7. Performs, assigns and ensures accuracy of various inventory control tasks.
  8. Performs or assists in testing new products, production packaging and procedures.
  9. Participates in the selection of new employees. Plans, assigns, trains, supervises and evaluates work of staff. Ensures compliance of Company policies and procedures. Conducts performance evaluations to guide the development of employees and provide a record of performance. Ensures effective employee relations. Initiates and documents disciplinary actions as approved by HR.
  10. Conducts daily staff communication meetings. Effectively communicates expectations, output, status and achievements on productivity and safety in a consistent and timely manner.
  11. Verifies fork lift, HAZMAT, LOTO and all other mandatory certifications are held by appropriate staff, as required.
  12. Organizes, updates and maintains databases, records and other documents. Reviews and ensures accuracy of production quantities and time keeping. Completes and sends daily production reports.
  13. Promotes lean principles. Works with other departments and assists with the creation or updating and implementing of process improvement procedures, tasks, workflows and systems.
  14. Documents and maintains a manual of current procedures and tasks explaining responsibilities.
  15. Facilitates or assists in facilitation of emergency situations.
  16. Ensures raw materials are in supply for daily needs.
  17. Prepares correspondence, reports or other documents, keeping others adequately informed.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Uses appropriate safety equipment and follows safety policies, practices and procedures.
  2. Works in an office and production setting. Attends meetings or performs duties outside of normal office hours and may travel by air or car.
  3. Sits or stands for long periods of time and may work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures and outside in all types of weather. Possibility of exposure to a variety of environmental and chemical allergens including elevated dust levels. Works near noisy machinery and moving mechanical parts and equipment. Regularly exposed to vibration.
  4. Frequently required to walk, reach with arms, stoop, kneel and crouch. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
