Sr. Project Manager ( Engineering )

The Sr. Project Manager manages the design, engineering, and implementation of major capital projects by directing the activities of internal project teams and outsideengineering/procurement/construction(EPC) companies assigned to the projects.    1)     Monitors safety compliance and performance of contractors to ensure standards are met.  Leads and supports mill safety initiatives.    2)     Manages the preparation of feasibility studies, Pre-PAR studies, appropriation requests, economic analyze and budget estimates.  Involves internal project teams, mill and corporate management in all scope definition issues.    3)     Manages the execution of approved projects relative to engineering design, equipment specifications, selection and purchase of project equipment, cost control and personnel training.  Involves mill management production, and maintenance in decisions of material and equipment selections.    4)     Manages the construction of approved projects relative to preparation of bid packages, selection and award of contracts, field work force, construction methods, scheduling and cost control.    5)     Provides timely project status information to mill and corporate management.  Must be able to conduct presentations to all levels of management.    6)     Identifies and recommends cost improvement opportunities to improve financial returns.    7)     Utilities project management software and cost control systems to increase project effectiveness.    8)     Insures that all phases of project work are properly documented, i.e., project costs, equipment manuals and drawings, material certifications, etc.  Procures spare parts and coordinates training for mechanics and operators as needed for new equipment and systems.     9)     Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies and Rayonier's Standard of Ethics and Code of Corporate Conduct.  Promotes and carries out the Company's ongoing affirmative action and equal opportunity programs. Required Qualifications BS degree in Engineering or closely related field is required.  Structural, Civil or Mechanical preferred.  15 years in project engineering, mill operations and management assignments.  Basic working understanding of project and construction management principles to include delegation of responsibility, motivation, communication and scheduling.  Good engineering practices as related to wood products and pulp mill engineering and constructionpreferred.  Ability to receive, interpret and carry out instructions.  Basic mechanical skills in estimating, cost accounting, critical path scheduling, technical writing, administration and engineering. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
